Trailer parts are harder to find than they should be

Trailers are everywhere: utility, flatbed, enclosed cargo, horse, car hauler. But their parts ecosystem is fragmented. Dealers are expensive. Local hardware stores carry the basics. Finding a specific axle assembly, brake actuator, or coupler for an older trailer often means calling multiple suppliers and waiting.

There's a faster path.

Post your request, let sellers respond

Post a parts request on AnyPartsHub with your trailer's type, brand (if applicable), and the part you need. Verified trailer parts sellers get notified and respond with quotes. You compare options and decide.

Whether you need same-day local pickup or nationwide shipping, sellers specify their coverage when they respond.

What to specify in your trailer parts request

  • Trailer type (utility, enclosed, flatbed, horse, car hauler, boat)
  • Brand and model if applicable (Big Tex, PJ, Wells Cargo, Featherlite, etc.)
  • Axle capacity (3,500 lb, 5,200 lb, 7,000 lb, etc.)
  • Number of axles
  • Brake type (electric, hydraulic surge, none)
  • Part name and any measurements or part numbers

Measurements matter more than brand names for trailer parts. A 3,500 lb axle with 5-lug 4.5" bolt pattern is a universal spec. Multiple brands make compatible parts.

Common trailer parts and sourcing notes

Axle assemblies: Torflex (rubber torsion) and leaf spring axles are the two main types. Capacity and bolt pattern must match. Used assemblies are widely available and work well if the bearings and hubs are in good shape.

Trailer brakes: Electric brake assemblies (magnets, shoes, drums) wear out and need replacement. Both OEM replacements and aftermarket equivalents are readily available.

Couplers and jacks: Ball couplers, gooseneck hitches, and A-frame jacks are mechanical wear items. Verify the coupler size (1-7/8", 2", 2-5/16") matches your ball.

Lights and wiring: Submersible LED lights are the standard replacement for boat trailers. 7-way wiring harnesses are universal.

Wheels and tires: Trailer tires (ST rating) are different from passenger tires. Don't substitute. Common sizes: ST205/75R15, ST225/75R15.

Fenders and ramps: Structural steel fenders and loading ramps are often sold used in good condition.

When used makes sense, when new is better

Buy used: Axle assemblies (check bearings), structural steel components, jacks, spare tire carriers, aluminum wheels

Buy new: Tires (age matters, not just tread), brake magnets, LED lights, wiring connectors, bearings
